It has been a week since I've updated this blog because I am living it up during my mid-term semester break A.K.A. Chinese New Year Break to be more specified because In my campus, no one actually celebrating that festive season EXCEPT for the Chinese race Lecturers. Talking about the semester break for only a week, here is a simple timeline about it
27th January 2017, Friday Night Blast !!!
Touch down at TBS with my classmates via Bus on 7.30pm from Melacca and reached at TBS by 10.00pm. Well its a little stressful here when I just ended with my Finance first test....
28th January 2017, Saturday refined with chores...
Typically woke up early to deal with the home laundry and not to mention the one I brought back in such a giant rucksack. Mum is busy packing the Chinese New Year detailed oversized cupcakes.
29th January 2017, Sunday boredom
In progress of learning my Piano songs of Lelaki Teragung by Dayang Nurfaizah but failed instead I just improved my previous song on Di Pintu Syurga. Watched downloaded Malay drama with mum on title Biar Aku Jadi Penunggu.
30th January 2017, Monday to excitement !!!
Its kind of interesting on this day that I actually finished my 3rd Bawang Putih and Bawang Merah outfit in Baju Kurung versions with detailed accessory to from previously is Baju Kebaya.
31st January 2017, Tuesday bankers...
During this day, I was busy at the bank (bank re-opened after public holiday on Monday) dealing with fund transfer upon my Camera purchases online because I loose my previous one at my kolej but see what happens on the next Sunday. Deal with maybank2u accounts re-opening from my parents merged account.
1st February 2017, Wednesday school routine
In Selangor area, school starts as usual so as my both of my parents were busy with their daily routines as so am I where I help on a little much.
2nd February 2017, Thursday of sickness
Pity on my mum whom she was ill since the past 2 days back and today she have to bake 2 cakes at once but the result was speechless mesmerizing as well as the Camera I ordered all the way from Kedah state by my hands today.
3rd February 2017, Friday of the Last moment
This is the last Friday that Iam spending at home with my parents with a throwback post on the hot evening. This is also the longest hours of me driving back and fourth from one place to another. So, I wore that black Jubah since morning till night falls.....
4th February 2017, Saturday to Gombak here I come...
I went to UIA situated at Gombak in KL with my dad to pick up one of his friend son's car to bring back home for the certificate of ownership name replacement due to over expiry session. That night also is one last moments with my friends which I left out my IC and my License in the other car...
5th February 2017, Sunday back LenduFornia
A smooth morning with a gift of cheese cake from my mum for me to bring back to Lendu on board the Bus, and surprisingly, when I reached there, I found my missing camera....which is in my locker all this while.
Well that is typically my short timeline of my mid semester break.
Now back to the topic shall we?

Basicly, in Unit 3, you will learn decision enabling, problem solving, and opportunity seizing systems
in order to Stream the business operations.
Chapter 9 : Enabling the Organization in Decision Making
A.) Decision Making
Model - a simplified representation or abstraction of reality.
Example : It systems in an enterprise
Why should we enhance decision making information systems ?
It is because people need to analyze large amounts of information, people must make decisions quickly, people must apply sophisticated analysis techniques, such as modeling and forecasting.
B.) Transaction Processing Systems
What is it?
The basic business systems that serves the operational level in an organization
It also relates with...
i.) Online Transaction Processing
The capturing of transaction and event information using technology to :
- Process the information according to defines business rules
- Store the information
- Update existing information to reflect the new information
ii.) Online Analytical Processing
The manipulation of information to create business intelligence in support of strategic decision making.
C.) Decision Support Systems (DSSs)
What is it ?
Models information to support managers and business professionals during the decision making process. There are also 3 quantitative models used by DSSs which are :
- Sensitivity Analysis
The study of the impact that changes in one parts of the model have on other parts of the model.
- What if Analysis
Checks the impact of a change in an assumption on the proposed solution.
- Goal seeking analysis
Finds the inputs necessary to achieve a goal such as a desired level of output.
D.) Executive Information Systems (EISs)
What is it?
A specialized DSSs that supports senior level executives within the organization. It also offer its capabilities as follows :
- Consolidation
Involves the aggregation of information and features simple roll-ups to complexgroupings of interrelated information.
- Drill-down
Enables users to get details, and details of details, of information.
Example : From regional sales data then drill down to each sales representatives at each office.
- Slice and Dice
Looks information from different perspective
Example : One slice of information could display all product sales during a given promotion, another slice could display a single product's sales for all promotions,
- Digital Dashboards
Integrates information from multiple components and presents it in a unified display.
E.) Artificial Intelligence (AI)
What is AI ?
Stimulates human intelligence such as the ability to reason and learn. Its ultimate goal as well is the ability to build a system that can mimic human intelligence.
Relates with...
Intelligent system - various commercial applications of artificial intelligence.
The common categories of AI includes
- Expert System
Computerized advisory programs that imitate the reasoning processes of experts in solving difficult problems.
- Neural Network
Attempts to emulate the way the human brain works.
Example :
- Finance industry uses neural network to review loan applications and create patterns and profiles of applications that fall into two categories which is either denied or approved.
- Fuzzy Logic is where a mathematical method of handling imprecise or subjective information.
- Genetic Algorithm
An artificial intelligent system that mimics the evolutionary, survival-of-the-fittest process to generate increasingly better solutions to a problem.
- Intelligent Agent
Special purposed knowledge based information system that accomplishes specific tasks on behalf of its users.
F.) Data Mining
A software that includes many forms of AI such as neural network and expert systems
The common forms of data mining are...
- Cluster Analysis
A technique used to divide an information set into mutually exclusive groups such that members of each group are as close together as possible to one another and the different groups are as far apart as possible. CRM systems depend on cluster analysis to segment customer information and identify behavioral traits.
- Association Detection
Reveals the degree to which variables are related and the nature and frequency of these relationships in the information. Market basket analysis is where it analyzes such items as Websites and checkout scanner information to detect customers buying behavior and predict future behavior by identifying affinities among customers choices of products and services,
- Statistical Analysis'
Performs such functions as information correlations, distributions, calculations, and variance analysis.

- Forecast
